- STM32, startup and enable USB as Virtual COM port. I think I can build a bootable image with the embedded version as installed through fpcupdeluxe. I checked the device and cpu configuration files, and they look pretty good, but they're only available for the common STM32F controllers. The ones I had weren't available.
- Back in the Virtual COM Port application, click on “Add” in the Virtual Serial Port dialog box, which will bring up the “Edit Connection” window. Next, from the “Select serial port” drop-down menu, select a COM port to associate the virtual COM port with, and give it a new “Connection Name”.

Software Description:
Virtual Serial Port Driver creates virtualserial ports and connects them in pairs via virtual null modemcable. Applications on both ends of the pair will be able toexchange data in such a way, that everything written to the firstport will appear in the second one and backwards.
All virtual serial ports work and behave exactly like real ones, emulating all their settings. You can create as many virtual portpairs as you want, so there will be no serial ports shortage and noadditional hardware crowding your desk.
Here are some key features of “Virtual Serial PortDriver”:
– Any number of virtual serial ports pairs can be created
– Virtual serial ports are absolutely the same copies of real ones- applications won’t see the difference between real and virtualserial ports
– Virtual serial ports can be controlled directly from your ownapplication via Dynamic Link Library supplied with VSPD (for OEMLicense owners)
– Link between virtual serial ports is much faster than realnull-modem cable connection and solely depends on your processorspeed (average transfer speed is about 5.5 Mbytes/sec)
– Real serial ports are not occupied – you can even have no realports in system at all
– Possibility to create ports for the current user session only.Allows RDP users to create port with the same name (e.g. COM1) ineach user session.
– You can enable automatic update of ports’ list, thus you can seepairs created in other user sessions
– Instantaneous ports creation lets working with them even beforePnP manager detects the newly added ports
– Strict baudrate emulation
– Ports can be deleted even if they are open by otherapplications
– All signal lines are available: DTR/DSR/CTS/RTS/DCD/RI
– Full support of HandFlow control (Hardware and Xon/Xoff)
– Virtual serial line connection break emulation
– Different virtual null-modem schemes are available:standard/loopback/custom
– Virtual serial port may have any name you like, even the samename as real port has
– Ports are automatically re-created on system reboot (prior touser login)
– Possibility to change names of virtual serial ports, created byVSPD, shown in Device Manager
– Restriction of access to created virtual ports for variousapplications
– Virtual Serial Port Driver and all of its internal drivers aredigitally signed
– Complete information about current virtual serial port state,sent/received data, etc
– Windows kernel driver technology support (WDM, WMI, PowerManagement, PnP, etc)
– Printers can be assigned to any virtual serial port (availableafter Windows reboot)
– Hyper-threading and VMware friendly
– No reboot is required after VSPD installation, creation andreconfiguration of virtual serial ports

The Null-modem emulator is an open source kernel-mode virtual serial port driver forWindows, available freely under GPL license.
The Null-modem emulator allows you to create an unlimited number of virtual COM portpairs and use any pair to connect one COM port based application to another. Each COM port pair provides two COM ports. The output to one port is the input from otherport and vice versa.
The Null-modem emulator can be used to provide serial interface for device emulators. In this case the device emulation program uses one port of the pair andthe other port can be used by Windows or DOS application thatrequires a COM port to communicate with the device. For example, to send/receive faxes over IP you can connect WindowsFax application to t38modem (T38FAX Pseudo Modem ,part of the t38modem project ) via virtual COM port pair.
The Null-modem emulator can be used to provide serial interface for COM port redirectors. For example, with the com2tcp (COM port to TCP redirector, part of the com0com project ) you can communicate via serial interface with the TCP/IP servers. If you feel that com2tcp is what you need but can't find some required features (for example RFC 2217 support) then try use hub4com instead.
With the hub4com (HUB for communications, part of the com0com project ) it is possible to handle data and signals from a single serial device by a number of differentapplications (for example, several applications can share data from one GPS device). It's also possible to use the real serial ports of remote computer like if they exist on a local computer.
You can find more information inUsing com0com and com2tcp,ReadMe.txt for com0com,ReadMe.txt for com2tcp,ReadMe.txt for hub4comand onSourceForge Projectpage.

Alternatively, you can use Virtual Serial Port Driver by Eltima Software. It allows creating a large number of virtual COM ports and gives you great possibility to emulate serial port behaviour fully. Virtual Serial Port Driver provides flexible port creation, management, and removal, allows testing the software, supports control lines and high speed of data transfer with virtual port.
